Magnetic Fields / Les Chants Magnetiques

As in Oxygene and Equinoxe, Jean Michel Jarre composed, performed and produced Les Chants Magnétiques. In this album, he continued to explore the electronic instrumental sound he loved so much. If the two first albums were dedicated to Nature, Chants Magnétiques was inspired by the actions of men in their environment, in specifically human activities. We hear the sounds of trains, of wheels, metallic, mechanical noises … which do not harm the ethereal, organic sounds, the musical texture which has become Jean Michel Jarre's trademark. At the end of Part 1, we hear the sampling of a sax, such a poignant sound, reminding me of the real sax of Rendez-Vous in 1986.
