Produktinformationen "Hue-Man Made"
After excellent releases from Hazylujah (Italy) and Takuya Matsumoto (Japan) Meda Fury now looks to the US and more specifically to Damon Bell. The Oakland local and crate digger has released on such labels as Japan's Soundofspeed, as well as the US's The Do-Over and his regular home, the mighty Deepblak. Hue-Man sprints out of the starting blocks, the catchiest of acoustic riffs riding a natural kick drum. Various panned hi-hats propel the track towards a Malian vocal and bassline, before you're taken far across the plains by echoed afro-folk flute and trumpet. Radius starts with a breakbeat and layers of afro percussion, followed by plucked strings and a synthetic woodwind bass pattern. Synth washes and effects rain down amongst more spacious key-work. Jazz stabs precede the unexpected late arrival of a 4/4 kick. On the flip we start again with the epic Enthusiastic Minor. The slow tribal intro develops with the bending of multi-layered synth lines and fuzz bass, interweaving the arrival of a heavy bass drum, zoning out across an infinite horizon. Drawing the EP to a close is the short but sweet Resist Her. Drums and shakers start this jam while some accomplished and memorable piano is hammered out, doubling up both the bass keys and drums. This charming interplay between instruments is joined by some atmospheric synth work, before the now solo piano signs off.
